Job summary

Red Hat’s Products and Technologies (PnT) Program Management Office is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will support various initiatives aligned with Red Hat’s strategic framework. You will identify opportunities to improve business processes through validating current state, assessing gaps, and documenting future state. You will enable business outcomes and customer success through strategic business analysis, solutions design and evaluation, and assessing the performance of solutions. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will converge processes across teams and organizations and ensure the processes in place align with Red Hat’s strategic goals. You’ll need to be comfortable solving ambiguous business and technical problems of varied scope and complexity with minimal direction.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of business solutions through building relationships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, implementing processes, and monitoring progress and results

  • Support scoping of new business initiatives and assist project managers in the creation of project charters (outlining the business need, project goals and deliverables, acceptance criteria, scope, etc.) for business-critical projects and initiatives

  • Distill high-level strategic vision into tactical actions, tasks, and deliverables

  • Contextualize relationships and alignment between teams and work to optimize outcomes

  • Investigate business problems and opportunities using root cause analysis

  • Elicit, manage, and prioritize business requirements effectively, ensuring traceability throughout the program or project life cycle

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge in business process mapping, convergence, and differentiation

  • Provide project-level analysis, producing required project analysis documentation, including business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, gap analysis, future state proposals, and recommendations for optimizations

  • Create and interact with business capability models; demonstrated ability using this tool to enhance organizational capabilities

  • Mentoring and coaching junior-level business analysts as required

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; MBA is a plus

  • 7+ years of experience working in business analyst role

  • Thorough understanding of Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) 2.0

  • Skilled at translating customer needs into business solutions and requirements

  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to perform cost-benefit analyses

  • Ability to work on your own and lead others during projects

  • Ability to resonate with technical and non-technical audiences and serve as a point of contact between the two

  • Proven ability to collaborate with global and cross-functional teams

  • Project Management Institute Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), International Institute of Business Analysis Certified Business Analysis Professional (IIBA-CBAP), or equivalent industry certification is a big plus

  • Other relevant certifications like IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, etc., are a plus

  • Familiarity with Red Hat's product portfolio and open source software business models is a plus
