Job summary

The Red Hat North American Public Sector Sales team is looking for an Onboarding Specialist to join us in Mclean, VA. In this role, you will have regional responsibility for the success of our sales enablement strategy. You will establish and maintain company-wide agreement on the role of the associate in our open culture. You’ll ensure that associates have the skills, behaviors, and mindsets required to successfully onboard and transition between different roles. You’ll optimize onboarding experience and provide easy access to resources. As an Onboarding Specialist, you will establish a system that supports and reinforces ongoing commitment to continual learning and education. You’ll partner closely with the inside sales leadership team to ensure they are in compliance with process, procedure, and enablement of their teams.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Partner with inside sales leadership team and other stakeholders to ensure the onboarding and adoption of enablement programs, tools, and resources defined by company standard and Red Hat’s strategies

  • Partner with regional and functional program owners and stakeholders to ensure that onboarding is targeted to specific functions, roles, or regions and is complementary to and supportive of the sales enablement strategy

  • Stay informed on tools and processes sales representatives use to do their jobs, acting upon opportunities to improve and simplify the associate experience

  • Build commitment and broad adoption of tools, processes, and procedure that relate to selling motions

  • Use success measures and stakeholder feedback to manage the ongoing effectiveness of the onboarding experience and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Understand change impacts on key stakeholders and create well-informed communications and enablement plans

  • Maintain appropriate transparency and alignment with the leadership team and other stakeholders

  • Ensure that learning and development opportunities are available to support sales representatives development of mindsets, behaviors, and skills needed to onboard quickly and effectively

  • Produce and deliver timely assessments and reports of onboarding and enablement programs status, risks, and obstacles

Required skills

  • ​​Bachelor's degree

  • Highly organized with solid attention to detail

  • Ability to develop a plan, get things done, and deliver desired outcomes in a highly matrixed environment

  • Ability to persuade others without using authority through building solid relationships and professional credibility

  • Ability to work well as part of a team

  • Organized, comfortable with ambiguity, and resourceful with great problem-solving skills

  • Curiosity and desire to continuously learn and improve

  • Ability to understand and embrace strategic goals and ensure that program and initiative roadmap is in place and being carried out to achieve strategic goals

  • Experience developing and implementing evaluation methods to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement

  • Experience working with and delivering results through a virtual team where coworkers are not direct reports

  • Positive attitude, resilience, and comfort with effectively managing multiple, competing, and sometimes changing priorities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) tools like Salesforce.com (SFDC)

  • Experience working in government or public sector sales is a plus
