Business Overview:

The HP Specialty Printing & Technology Solutions (SPTS) business leverages existing Thermal Inkjet (TIJ) technology that it markets and sells to OEMs who develop specialty printers for a unique field-of-use outside of HP’s core markets.  The OEM in turn markets and sells their specialty printer under their own brand, and may license HP trademark for support.  These HP technologies and components encompass TIJ 4.0, TIJ 2.5, and TIJ 2.X technologies for multiple world-wide market segments including Coding & Marking, Postage metering & Mail addressing, Direct Mail, Specialty Packaging & Label printing, and Transaction printing.  SPTS also develops Life Science dispensers which use TIJ technology to jet chemical agents for life science discovery.

Role Description:

This Product Life Cycle Marketing Manager role will be focused on Future Product Marketing for the Coding & Marking segment, the largest and fastest growing segment for SPTS.  The role is responsible to create a market and customer driven business case which could be addressed by future inks and/or TIJ 4 technologies, define the new product performance specifications, validate product concept with customers for viability, then work with a cross-functional team through the NPI process, from Strategic Intent (SI) to Manufacturing Release (MR).  The role will also lead marketing elements of Gen 5 TIJ technology programs.  The role interacts regularly with customers, other Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Operations departments and Finance to assess/analyze market opportunities, define and launch new products, set pricing, and successfully hand-off to Current Product Marketing.
