Reporting directly to a Director of HR Management Partners, this individual contributor role at VMware provides direct HR partnership to people managers from front-line through senior leaders. In this unique role, focused on building manager capability and effectiveness, you will coach and mentor managers while assisting with people related questions and/or issues. This role also involves supporting the Centers of Excellence in the design phase of VMware’s people programs. The work includes meeting with and coaching managers one on one, conducting group coaching sessions and being a liaison between the managers and various HR Centers of Excellence (COEs). Core Responsibilities: Partner with people managers at all levels with their growth and development to help them become more effective leaders and managers Partner with managers in the areas of company-wide and local people programs at the thought partnership level Through coaching, you will be an integral thought partner in compensation planning, performance management, goal setting, and talent planning You will participate in having difficult and effective conversations around how to develop employees and teams Coach managers through people related issues as well as VMware processes Facilitate manager on-boarding for new and first time promoted managers Coach senior leaders on their respective people plans, including hiring, diversity, equity and inclusion plans Project work in partnership with various HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) in the design, development, and implementation of people programs Partner with other HR functions and internal resources to execute corporate-wide people initiatives Provide partnership and insight to the Human Resources Business Partners, HR leadership and COEs aligned with overall HR and business strategies Identify trends or concerns in organization health such as business, external or geographic influences Required Skills 9+ years of Human Resources experience in a HR Business Partner or HR Strategic Partner environment with direct client support and coaching experience Coaching Certification Strong individual and group coaching skills are required Ability to quickly build trust and be a trusted advisor to challenge leaders to accelerate their growth and development in support VMware’s goal of being a company that develops great leaders Preferably you will need to be knowledgeable of APAC employment laws and standard methodologies Have a demonstrated competence in the various HR functional areas including compensation, consulting/coaching, and leadership development.
