We are looking for an outstanding hands-on distributed systems and machine learning (ML) senior manager who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be building the privacy-preserving foundation and the next generation ad domain capabilities for Apple’s efforts across its product portfolio. You would be setting the vision, architecture for capabilities which ensure a great market-place for end-customers as well as advertisers. These services ensure the creation and lifecycle management of an ad across all stages. The ability to create universal campaigns with minimal complexity, targeting the right audience in a privacy-preserving fashion, attributing the correct signals and providing best-in-class insights to advertisers in the most privacy-preserving ecosystem are some of the opportunities ahead. Pioneer the development of distributed systems that apply groundbreaking algorithms and ML models. Build next generation advertising capabilities which will re-define the industry. For end-users, we aim to provide high privacy guarantees and for advertisers we want to enable new mechanisms to build effective campaigns. This involves demonstrating and extending state of the art language models, collaborative filters and dense representations to build robust features. In pushing the boundary of information retreival applications, the capability to do analysis; detecting meaningful data patterns, assuring the integrity and breadth of the data, measuring user, campaign and app performance, and finally analyzing the results of very large-scale experiments. The services will have the most demanding needs for high throughput and reliability while having the lowest possible latencies providing the foundation for a premier offering.

Key Qualifications

  • A track record for solving open-ended ambiguous problem domains such as Search, Advertising, Fraud prevention, highly desired
  • Experience of building product capabilities which achieve revenue outcomes with product and cross-group teams highly desired
  • Experience on cryptography, secure protocol development, privacy-preserving ML highly desired
  • You can apply advanced statistical methods and work with large, complex data sets to solve open-ended problems
  • - You can actively participate in investigations into multiple streams of ads quality data, and draw conclusions from data, recommend actions.
  • - Following domains: Algorithms, Architecture, Artificial Intelligence, Database Systems, Analytics, Distributed Systems, Machine Learning, Networking, Statistics, Game Theory, Ad-tech algorithms for targeting/attribution/campaigns or other experience with meticulous Quantitative Analysis or Systems Software implementation.
  • You have experience developing in Python, C++, C# or Java.
  • You are familiar with databases, SQL, and scripting languages.
  • You have a practical understanding of modern machine learning and its components.
  • You enjoy working closely with operational teams on deployment, monitoring, and management concerns.
  • You actively manage performance of the team reporting to you and take ownership to drive its outcome

Description

You will lead the team that defines, refines, and/or refactors our approaches, designs, and architectures to meet the need of the content-revenue ecosystem. Manage a team of world-class machine learning engineers as well as web scale distributed systems with an appetite for apply leading-edge technologies to deliver extraordinary experiences to our customers. You will play a critical leadership role building products which deliver on Apple's privacy commitments and change the way content & data is used to build best product and advertiser outcomes. You will join and contribute to an environment that emphasizes understandability, reliability, resiliency, simplicity, reusability, extensibility, scalability, and productivity. We are one team, cultivating each other’s growth and supporting each other in delivering for our customers and Apple.

Education & Experience

BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Distributed Systems, Software Engineering, or related field; and experience designing, building, maintaining, and extending web-scale production systems. Experience leading teams that deliver the infrastructure, frameworks, and components that support high-demand ML capabilities
