Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Communications, English, or related field and 10+ years of experience writing and editing software and/or hardware documentation and content, or related work experience.

Associate's degree and 12+ years of writing and editing software and/or hardware documentation and content, or related work experience.

High School diploma or equivalent and 14+ years of writing and editing software and/or hardware documentation and content, or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience developing and delivering developer focused documentation, training packages, and video content at an industry leading technology company such as NVIDIA, NXP, MediaTek, Microsoft, Google, Apple, Intel.

  • Extensive experience designing, deploying, and maintaining a modern, efficient, enterprise scale, multimedia documentation platform serving a wide range of developers.

  • Experience developing technical documentation in DITA XML source format using the Oxygen XML tool suite and generating HTML and PDF using the DITA Open Toolkit.

  • Experience developing technical documentation in reStructuredText and Markdown formats using popular tools such as Sphinx, Breathe, and Doxygen.

  • Experience with automating the generation of documentation from hardware and software source code files and from custom product information databases.

  • Experience with requirements management and Jira based agile project management methodologies applied to the production of technical documentation.

  • Experience applying best practices for website user experience design, development, evaluation, and end user testing.

  • Experience engaging with developer communities to gather feedback to identify opportunities to expand the usefulness of developer focused technical documentation.

  • Familiarity with lifecycles, ecosystems, and common tools applicable to the development of consumer electronics products.

  • Familiarity with fundamentals of structured authoring, information architecture, content strategy, learning design.

  • Familiarity with open source software philosophy, communities, methodologies, and popular projects.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager, Salesforce, Perforce, Github, Jira systems.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior leaders from product management, development engineering, customer engineering , technical writing , and tools development to ensure broad alignment with a companywide developer documentation strategy.

  • Work with website designers, technical writers, and tools developers to improve the quality and delivery of developer focused technical product documentation for all products and business areas.

  • Design, develop, and deploy systems, platforms, templates, and processes to enable large scale decentralized, collaborative authoring and delivery of technical documentation.

  • Develop, train, and enforce technical documentation design, navigation, ease of use quality guidelines, requirements, and milestones for content creators including engineers, product managers, and technical writers.

  • Design, implement industry leading systems, tools, process to produce large scale multimedia content including YouTube videos, focused webinars, technical training.

  • Track product developer use cases and information requirements across subject areas and product lines to ensure that documentation content meets corresponding developer needs.

  • Proactively engage with product developer communities, conduct online surveys, and analyze website analytics to gather feedback from product developers to continually refine and improve developer documentation.

  • Perform comparative analysis of best in class websites on a regular basis and keep up with technical communications industry trends to ensure a modern, best in class developer documentation experience.

  • Plan and manage internal deployments of process and system change to ensure smooth adoption of improvements by all affected internal organizations.

Pay range:

$159,000.00 - $238,500.00
